Looking the other way across Loch Swilly

Forecast wasn't all that great for today so we headed out on one of my infamous road trips. These are much shorter these days as the kids are bigger and better at complaining:-)

We headed to Letterkenny and then round the Fanad peninsula. We had a wee stop in Rathmullan to let the Weim and the army stretch their legs.

The eastern side of the peninsula has a fantastic road that hugs the coast and is very steep and winding in parts. This is a shot looking over to Fort Dunree on Inishowen.

The western side of the peninsula is not so interesting a road but pleasant all the same and travelled for completeness.

Stopped off in Letterkenny for a bite to eat and then had a wee stroll up to St Euanans Cathedral.

A nice wee outing. One regret is that we didn't take the ferry across Loch Swilly from Fahan to Rathmullan, that would have been a nice wee touch.
