A Looking in View

Minimalist efforts from the top of Sagrat Cor, on Tibidabo. I spent a while aligning this photo properly. Not sure if it's got the juice to match some of my favorites like this one but I'm still happy with it!

A good day spent travelling to the top via the funicular and bus (great view!) and then taking photos from the 1920s theme park and top of the church. Selfies with Jesus!

In the afternoon, Alex, Shane and me headed into Barrio Gotico, both for some more photography and to look for a restaurant for the evening. We found a relaxed one on Carrer d'Allada-Vermell, a really nice placa I've always wanted to come to. Hurricane by Bob Dylan! This song comes up in the most random of locations on tour. The chain bar in Liverpool and now this restaurant.

After dinner, we allowed ourselves to be harassed by a street promoter and ended in a cocktail bar drinking tequila sunrises and long islands. Free shots! Then, off to another Ryan's pub, the grimiest cheapest dive in bcn, but with more free shots. 2? beers went down pretty quickly with an improvised game of "s*** we've done."
This then followed by my favorite bar in bcn, that's Espit Chupitos. Quite a legend, as everybody who's lived here knows about it, so I had to introduce everybody to it. A shot bar with over 500 licensed shots, all of which are written on the wall. But the recipes are certainly not written. You just pick the name that sounds best to you. All the good memories from 2010 with Take and the girls came back as I read over the familiar names. We only stayed for 3 shots as the place was closing, but they didn't disappoint! Bin Laden, Bob Marley and a random fire shot you drink through the straw.
Oh yeah, and the floor was twice as sticky as the copper rooms. Damn flip flops. Somehow we ended up on the beach at 3am and some people in the water after that. What a night.

peace
