Six-Spot Burnet Moth, Zygaena filipendulae

I chanced upon a mass hatching of these moths today. There must have been between 50 and 100 in a small area about 25 feet by 6 feet. Many of them were mating - some just out of their chrysalis.

In this blip, the female (upper moth) has just emerged from her chrysalis + cocoon and her wings haven't yet fully expanded but already she is being mated.

To give you an idea of how many there were, here is an image of 6 on a single thistle-head.

The location is about 6 miles from where I previously blipped one a couple of days ago.
