York House Garden Statues, Twickenham

I read about the garden around eighteen months ago in Katherine Ellis's journal, and today, we found this rather unusual water feature.

The statues, carved in Italian Carrara marble, represent the Oceanides or Sea Nymphs in Greek mythology.

Some unusual events today :-
Seeing armed police jumping from an unmarked car in the High Street, sirens screaming, no idea what was going on.

Meeting an elderly gentleman wearing a Pith Helmet, sweeping the path on Eel Island in the Thames.

Noticing the skies suddenly oddly quiet above SW London later this afternoon, and then to learn that Heathrow had to close due to a fire on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Now caught up with my Oxford backblips from this week.
