"The Little Graveyard Out In The Bush"..

...The very first burials in our district took place right here - just six of them, in this very peaceful setting out in the Australian Bush...near the River Murray..

...There are many little graveyards all over Australia, very similar to this, some out on Station properties - I remember them - there was even one on our own family farm years ago - a baby buried next to the favorite farm horse...but this one was the very first for this area of the Mildura Station - before the opening of the Mildura Cemetery and is not far from us once again, and as you can see, surrounded by Bushland, with lots of birds, and quangdong trees, river gums and the belah trees.

...Dating back to 1848 - the very first burial was of a young man in his early twenties as a result of being thrown from his horse...and the last of the 6 graves in 1889 was of a little girl aged 3, as a result of scalding..

...It is a place of peace and there are many the little blue jenny wrens and willy-wag-tails which seemingly watch over this little place of Peace...
