Crescent Moon over Southshore

We've had a wonderful day here in Christchurch, weather-wise, but apparently it's the calm before the storm. There's a very cold southerly coming up from the deep south, and MetService are issuing snow warnings for many of the passes.

I decided I'd like to try for a sunset this evening, after my earlier effort in the day came to nothing. I ended up capturing this waxing crescent moon which is really rather tiny! I loved the colour on the horizon and in the clouds though.

Many thanks to everyone for your response to my Peacock Fountain yesterday. It popped into the spotlight for a while today. I'm sorry that I've been so slow responding to your comments.
