Summer

What a day! Hottest of the summer so far. Temperature on the car thermometer showed thirty one degrees at one point. Mrs Mikey went shopping this morning and I pottered about the house and garden. Nice lunch in the garden, then a bit of work on finding pictures and emailing them, then off to Lopwell for a cream tea.

The picture shows Mrs Mikey getting a bit of shade and my son braving the burning sun with the remains of the cream tea on the table. Although it looks empty on the terrace, there were lots of people around the dam and having picnics on the grassy areas.

Then it was back home and more work on photos - trying to print out some pictures. Why is it that the print never looks as good as it did on the screen? It took several extra A4 prints (and all the ink involved!) to get something reasonable, and I'm still not entirely happy. Some will have to be reprinted.

Anyway, I packed that up and start up the barbecue. Just the three of us, as my poor daughter is working until nine tomorrow morning. All very nice when it was cooked. The garden was mostly in shadow and a breeze had got up, so it was beautifully cool and pleasant. All in all, an excellent way to spend a Saturday.
