Scurrying around the course

At the Kent County Show today, spent alot of the time at the main arena watching horsey type events which were very good. This Scurry racing and the Pony Club games were the most exciting and animated and challenging to get a good action shot. Also saw 2 beagle packs, camel racing and an aerobatic display by a Spitfire and a Hurricane

I particularly like this shot as the scurry swings around the bend, horses at a very acute angle, the groom leaning right over to counterbalance the scurry and the driver fighting for control. This team were the eventual winners but only by .15 of a second, so every inch mattered when getting around the course.

Looked around at the stalls, but bought very little apart from two cups of coffee, a croissant, a couple of ice creams. Enjoyed the samples in the Taste of Kent food stalls and the Food Tent but again, not tempted to buy anything. So apart from the ticket price, not much was made from us.

Back home for a barbeque on a wonderful evening - herring with rosemary, chicken kebabs, corn on the cob, new potatoes and beans (from the allotment) and also strawberries (also from the allotment) to finish. All washed down by a pint (in my case) of Bacardi and lemonade.
