Dragonfly

We went out for a coofee and some shopping this morning in one of our favourite garden centres. We then made a quick forray into a local petrol station with an M&S for a picnic lunch and headed to Foots Cray Meadows.

Foots Cray Meadows is a large, informal open space in the London Borough of Bexley, blessed with rolling landscape, designed by "Capability" Brown, ancient woodland, the River Cray and its adjacent woodlands and wildflower margins.

Leaving Mum in the relative coolness of some shady trees, I headed off toward the river and its renown five arches bridge. On the way I came across an area of wetland with a small pond, and to my delight there were a variety of dragonflies and damsel flies flying around, and I was fortunate to catch one at rest as they were very fast!
