Bastille Day celebration, Camargue style

For Bastille Day celebration, and before the official fireworks, the village of Mus in Southern France has organized a leading of the bulls by the local manades.

The manade is a term used in Camargue for a semi-feral group of Camargue cattle (mainly bulls) or horses led by gardians, or herders.

Today the horseback riding guardians demonstrated their skills in leading the bulls through the village. You can see the bull safely flanked by the mounted guardians riding the white Camargue horses.
