Cologne Fireworks Festival

By good luck, not design, we happened to be in Cologne for their annual Fireworks Festival this evening ...

... it's a bit like the end-of-Edinburgh-festival event, but with the River Rhein and Cologne Cathedral as the backdrop, as opposed to Edinburgh Castle ;-)

Anyhow - I know this shot isn't great - but snapped it from our balcony and think you can just about make out the twin-spires of The Dom!

The atmosphere, when we were in town earlier in the evening, was full-on party mode.

Cologne seems very at ease with itself. A lovely, lovely city.
