My friend Jan in the John Lewis café in Nottingham. There were some interesting items on the wall, old posters and photos, prints of bright paintings and this, but not sure what it is. I snapped her before she could object, but she didn't mind.
John Lewis is not what it was. In one toilet the seat was missing, and in another the lock didn't work....
Later Jan treated me to lunch at Clean Cut Kitchen which was lovely even though we didn't get exactly what we ordered! She was expecting rice with her salad and I seemed to have too much with my dahl, so I spooned some onto hers as she's T1 diabetic and had given herself insulin based on the expected rice! We both had chicken, not ordered and unwanted, but at less than £8 per head we thought it was good value and tasty! Bless her, she'd searched this place out as she knows I'm eating Zoe, and she's changed her diet to include more beans and vegetables which has cured her long standing constipation! Sorry, probably too much information.
It was very hot and humid, I was glad I'd worn a dress, but lovely to see the familiar and the new in a city I knew well between 1977 and 1984.
