Folk of the Wood

Another gorgeous, hot day spent at home. I accompanied Fred to the recycling centre with some defunct electrical items after which we rewarded ourselves with iced coffee at Volcano Coffee.

A real treat began at 4pm at the local art gallery at the bottom of my road - four hours of folk music! How exciting. The musicians and compere were amazing. They included The Green Ravens - youths from two local secondary schools who play together with their head music teachers (one of whom organised the whole event). Here are a few videos of the folk who were there:

Lotte Mullan - her songs on this Ridley Scott short, which I came across after googling her. She sang the final song on the short - it's her one happy song and it's gorgeous

Shadrack Tye - a local family, plus another one with Tina singing

Yo Zushi

Simon Prager and Kevin Stenson

Jo Lepine, formerly a member of the Owl Service

Jazzman John Clarke - the compere (he appeared without the Cats)

Following that, I zoomed to Hyde Park with Fred to hear The Rolling Stones. There were hundreds of folk, just like us, sitting outside the concert fence listening and dancing to the hits. It was fun!
