Day 5 Plymouth

3years 265days

We arrived in Plymouth at 6am. We had travelled there to spend time with blip's FamilyComplete. I'm godmother to all three of their adorable children. Parent 2 came to meet us from the bus. We arrived home to find Sproutling, Older Sibling and Surprisling had all got up, excited for Katie's arrival. Sproutling is 1 year old today! Mummy got her first cuddles with Surprisling, my littlest godchild. He then spent a lot of the day in my wrap snuggled up on my front. We watched Sproutling enjoy his new toys before they all had breakfast.

We then headed into Plymouth and down to the Hoe. I had suggested that perhaps we might like to go to the Lido. The last time that I was there it was derelict and looking very neglected. It is now totally restored and a fabulous facility. Good value too. None of the children were to be paid for either. Katie is insisting on calling it "Grandad's Pool" as it is something he utterly loved as a child himself. We picked a spot that had both shade for the babies and space for the bigger children and parents to enjoy the sunshine. Parent 2, Katie, older sibling and I all headed straight into the water. It took the girls by surprise that it was both colder than a normal pool and tasted different as it is sea-water. They had a lot of fun jumping in, splashing, playing in boats and on a floating car. During their brief pit stop for a hotdog and a lolly, I got to go into the main area and enjoy diving in the 2.5m end and swimming in the wonderful sea water. The girls were both back in for a second swim, along with Sproutling. It was such a good morning. Katie and I were both in heaven!

Early afternoon our time was up so we showered and got sorted. We walked back up the Hoe and met some FamilyComplete friends, one of Sproutling's other godparents in fact. I had Surprisling back on my front and we both very much enjoyed the big cuddle. Katie loved it too and gave him lots of kisses. The children all played running and chasing and climbing for a nice couple of hours. We gave Sproutling his birthday cake, which he claimed as entirely his own, and refused to give back about a quarter of. He polished off his share, his sisters and Katie's with impressive speed and skill.

Back to their house, via a yummy lolly from the shop, a quick bath for Katie and then the girls had a play on the "Bouncing" (trampoline). Katie was asleep seriously quickly before Mummy and Parent 1&2 cracked on with preparations for an exciting day tomorrow.
