When the donkeys are all hidden under the trees on the meadow, you know that it's 1. REALLY hot & 2. There are a LOT of buzzing insects.

The heat and schlepping 60 liters of water over rough ground did for me.  I had to sit down before I fell down. Sweat pouring off me.  I'm not made for German summers - way too hot.  And when I read that this summer in Sotland was one of the wettest on record, I thought I would really enjoy that.

Rain in summer is underrated.
