Normally this journal is a light hearted journal that covers topics like donkeys, books and soup.  

Not today.

There are regional elections in the "old" East Germany this weekend and the AfD are expected to win.  This is not something this donkey carer is happy about.

There was an article in the Guardian yesterday about the absolute Arschloch Björn Höcke.

I have major problems with him.

What that article quotes is one of his most famous quotes given to a drunken bunch of neo-Nazis "We Germans are the only people in the world that have planted a monument of shame in the heart of their capital".

Unfortunately for him, some of us can read and know that the source of this quote actually comes from Neil MacGregor - author of the book Germany - Memoirs Of A Nation (among others).

In it he writes : "I know of no other country in the world that at the heart of its national capital erects monuments to its own shame."  That looks quite familiar eh?  Crucially, Höcke left out the sentence that follows it - "Like the Siegestor in Munich, they are there not only to remember the past, but – and perhaps even more importantly – to ensure that the future be different."

And to shame Höcke further - he was a history teacher.  Albeit a holocaust denying, old fashioned Nazi teacher.  He should KNOW better but doesn't.  I'm sure he would be happier in a black uniform wearing a hat with a death's head skull aand wearing a dagger with "Everything For Germany" engraved on it.

We don't need another experiment with fascism here - the last one was enough.

I look after donkeys, you have to go out of your way to rile me up - this outraged me.  You might have noticed.

They have an ideology and they know exactly how to get their ideology into society. They have strategies for it.”

We have to be on our guard.
