Someries Castle

Circa 1460 an early example of a brick built manor house. It's called a castle and it looks like one but it doesn't hold any strategic military position and I don't think there were any battles fought here. In fact it was largely pulled down in the 18th century.
I think this is only the gatehouse, si it must have been a pretty grand manoe house.

I'm pleased I found this place. I had dropped Mr H off for badminton training and was driving around looking for a spot to photograph Luton Airport when I came accross this place. More about it here.

This was an experiment in an HDR pano stitched in Hugin. I'm slowly getting to know the software!
