Small Tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae)

The Big Butterfly Count starts tomorrow and I have been checking out a few possible sites. There are certainly a many more butterflies this year than last but that isn't surprising considering the warm weather we are enjoying suffering just now.

There seemed to have been a recent hatching of small tortoiseshells at one site where there were half a dozen in close proximity. One of them has obliged by becoming my blip for today.
