With an egg on top

Friedrich, our 17-year old house guest, is nothing if not a brave man. After partaking of our varied fare, he opted to make a meal typical of his own country. Cooking for seven in a strange kitchen is no mean feat but after meticulous selection and purchase of the exact components of his chosen recipe and rejecting all offers of assistance, he created a fantastic repast: Hamburger schnitzel (breaded pork escalopes topped with a fried egg), followed by German vanilla pudding (a sort of blancmange) accompanied by raspberries and currants from the garden.

His mum's instructions via iPhone were doubtless an invaluable part of the process but the execution was all his own and he received a well-deserved round of applause at the end of the meal. Llongyfarchiadau Friedrich!
