Creamola Foam

Again, going back to the legendary summer of '76...

Back then, during the long hot days of dehydration, I was reminded we relied on a variety of sources for rehydration. At times, between the Why Don't Yous and reluctant bedtimes this involved sooking cooncil juice* out of the local cemetery water tap, or, if you were feeling a bit flush, sooking on a frozen Thistle Pop**.

But, when the Bon Accord or Alpine juice (delivered on a Thursday afternoon, gone by Friday morning) had dried up, we relied on the strange powdered and tinned formula of Creamola Foam to quench our thirsts. This was basically bicarbonate of soda with some sugar and some, no doubt dodgy, flavourings that turned plain and ordinary cooncil juice into something a bit more exotic.

Samantha brought some back today (labelled 'Krakatoa Foam' but not fooling me) and I mixed up a glass full. Euan was not too enamoured, but the foamy bit was impressively foamy.
