Sewing with old silk

Day 2 with the young Talpids dawned with grandmother Talpa providing instruction in the fine art of sewing with silks. After an hour of this granddaughter Talpa was still going strong but grandson Talpa had taken himself off to race through the streets of downtown LA on the XBox.

Most of the silks belonged to my mother who was a silk spinner before and during the Second World War: from silk stockings to parachutes!

I will be away for the next little while and don't know if and when I will have access to t'Internet. I will be back in due course, with some back-blips.
