We had our first evening trip to the beach today for a picnic without Peanut. The kids enjoyed watching the other dogs there run around, especially as it was low tide and lots of sand to play on. We managed to survive a talk about whether or not to get another dog. They were wise in their opinions in leaving it for a while so it wouldn't be a rebound dog, there will never be a replacement for the Nutter. There's a possibility of having two smaller dogs next time so the relationship wouldn't be so intense as Peanut and mine was. It was a very exclusive love and the husband is hoping the next dog/dogs would be more family pets than my furbaby. I got through the whole day without crying today. It's much easier to be out of the house so we have a few trips planned which we wouldn't have made with Peanut.
