Goldfinch again.

There he was this morning, singing away on a different aerial (perhaps trying a different channel!) this time with a better sky behind him resulting in a clearer picture.

Hottest day of the year so far here today, and as a result my planned flight around Salisbury Plain got abandoned by me - not because it was hot, but because the air was very bumpy and hazy as well.

We were discussing this afterwards with a few others over a cup of tea and comparing it to being on a choppy sea. I decided it was unfortunate that you can't see the waves in the air, you just find them when they hit you.

Got home to a dry thunderstorm - ie just a few drops of rain but lots of flashes and bangs - rain forecast for tomorrow - maybe it will clear the air.
