Ground control

Here is the beast - a Ryobi 52cc brushcutter which we bought last week to replace our old, much less powerful one which finally gave up after many years of sterling service.

Today is the beasts first outing and we have got quite a big job in mind for it. Our neighbours are farmers and have suggested a bit of a land swap. It makes sense to be honest but is going to require a lot of land clearing as both his land next to us and the rather distanced bit of our land have been left to run wild and are now overgrown with one metre tall ferns, brezo and 'other stuff.' When we mentioned that our brushcutter wasn't working, the farmer suggested we do it by hand ? which scared the pants off us!

After it is cleared, it all needs re-fencing which at least he has got other troops called in for.

Not the easiest of jobs particularly as it is all narrow terraces, about six of them, and pretty steep.

The really good bit about it all is that we get to have a little building that was once an animal shed included in the land swap. And it has the most amazing view over the next village. A subject for tomorrow's blip me thinks ...
