Mumma again

There were SO many pictures that I could have blipped today. Mum and I went on a boat trip to Parga (a pretty mainland town) and Paxos (an island just south of Corfu), for free, as you do. Perks of the job are definitely good ones!

Parga is so beautiful - all these little colourful houses built into the hillside around a harbour of crystal clear water. After getting off the boat, Mum and I went for a wander and unconsciously headed uphill through town before stumbling across the old fortress up on the cliff. It's a beautiful crumbly old building now populated by towering pines (incidentally, one of my favourite smells) and many noisy cicadas! We decided to sit at the little cafe there to cool down and enjoy the absolutely breathtaking views back down onto the town and harbour over a couple of iced frappes and a toastie. Here is mum enjoying the view through pollen-irritated eyes!

Next we got back on the boat and headed off to Paxos. By this point we were feeling rather hot and sticky and opted for a quick stroll along the sea front before taking a dip to cool off in the beautiful water. We then just had time to sit and munch our way through some fresh bread and stuffed vegetables before getting back on the boat to head home.

Felt very content and sleepy by this point and fell into a little doze with the rocking of the waves and the gentle sea breeze on my salty skin - there are worse ways to enjoy a nap.

Got home and enjoyed a cuddle with Xena. She's such a cutie and we're quite attached to each other now. She was so shy to start with but has decided that she quite likes being stroked and cuddled - something she doesn't get much of at home. Most of the time she can be found on one of the chairs on outside our house, dozing and waiting for fuss or to trail after us as we head for work.
