The dew of little things

Whitby Abbey

Armed with my bus pass I had a day out in Whitby today.

The weather was much as forecast. Not very good in the morning; in fact at times it was difficult to see anything from the top deck of the Coastliner!

On arrival in Whitby the rain had stopped. But not for long and so we repaired to a local hostelry for a drink or two until the rain passed.

Then fish and chips followed by a vist to Captain Cook's museum. Then up the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey which is described in Bram Stoker's Dracula as 'a most noble ruin, of immense size, and full of beautiful and romantic bits'.

Then back down again, getting the obligatory seaside ice cream enroute, to catch the Coastliner back to York where we rounded off the day with a Mexican meal.

All in all a most enjoyable day
