Camino Diaries- The end of the road
WE DID IT! Mumma Bear and I have officially finished our pilgrimage at Finisterre- “the end of the world”. To say we are proud is an understatement!
We knew it was going to be a hot one today so we set off as early as possible. Thankfully this was our shortest walk at around 16km, so we made it into Finisterre around midday. After a quick coffee, went straight up to the famous lighthouse and spent some time sitting on the rocks, watching the waves crash and reflecting on our journey. It’s said that magic can happen on this Camino, and it certainly felt that way when Mumma bear spotted a pod of dolphins playing just off the cape- such a special moment.
Later afternoon we collected our Finisterranas (Finisterre’s pilgrim certificate) then had a wander around the town. Finisterre has some amazing looking places to eat, sadly we don’t have enough time to explore them all as we leave for home tomorrow. However we’re just back from the perfect end to our Camino, involving dinner at the Lighthouse restaurant followed by watching the most amazing sunset there, sitting on the rocks looking out to sea.
So many memories were made on this Camino and it has truly been a magical experience. We have met some incredible people along the way and pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones in more ways than one. Lastly, a huge thank you to everyone who has followed, read my posts and encouraged us. Thank you for coming on this journey with us - what a journey it’s been!
