Camino Diaries-Take rest
After a very relaxing last night, we found ourselves slightly rushed this morning. We had a very strict breakfast time at 8.30 and then had to leave at 9 so there wasn’t much time to eat leisurely. However we met some lovely people, Olga and Elizabeth from Florida and Dennis from Berlin. It turns Elizabeth does long distance running too, and recommended some ultra-marathons over in the US-maybe one day. The temperature has definitely cooled down, which is no bad thing as it makes walking much easier. Today’s route was back to more rural locations, with lots of forest tracks and farms. One of my favourite points was a ‘wall of wisdom’ outside one of the albergues; it had lots of inspiring quotes on it. Mumma bear finds it inspiring when we reach the top of a hill and we can see a stream of pilgrims, all walking their own path for their own reasons. The 19km seemed to pass quite quickly and we arrived in O Pedrouzo in good time this afternoon. One major bonus is our accommodation has a POOL, so an evening relaxing and swimming was welcomed. Dennis is also staying here tonight so we caught up with him at dinner, it’s been great to get to know him better. We can’t believe we will be arriving in Santiago tomorrow.
