Caught in the act

We have quite the grasshopper problem around here at the moment...they are everywhere and quite annoying. While trying to get some pics of the Texas sage, that is blooming beautifully because of the rain we had recently, I spotted these two...so I thought I'd try a close-up. My daughter, who was following me around the garden said, "Really? You know they're mating?!" To which I replied, "Yes, you don't think they mind do you?" LOL. She told me that was just "awkward" (one of her favourite expressions), and the two love birds hopped off their leaf to get away from the paparazzi ;0)

I had to check the spelling on awkward, as it looked rather, well, awkward...not a word you see written down very often.
