The Blue Mosque

Today, we flew to Istanbul and took a taxi along the coast to our hotel. The road was jammed and there were people walking down the middle of the road trying to sell chargers to cars which was a bit crazy.
We arrived at the hotel whis is in Sultanamhet, where the main attractions of Istanbul are, and went for a walk. The streets were crammed with restaurants and each had a man outside trying to stop you to give you a lecture on why you should come to their restaurant.
After listening to the first,we turned down the rest but it was still very funny. Then we got sucked into a carpet shop where they showed us some lovely carpets from different regions of Turkey but we didn't buy a carpet.
Because it was Ramadan when we got to the Blue Mosque, every inch of grass around it was taken up by families with their picnics laid out and once the sun was set the lights on the mosque turned on and the muezzin started they all tucked in which was quite a sight.
Then I had a delicious Turkish kebab on the restaurant terrace on the roof, looking out to Asia which was lovely.
