The hidden Alhambra Garden, Leeds

Difficult to decide on a blip today, but as agapanthus lilies are one of my favourite summer flowers, it had to be this, especially as I liked the water from the fountains in the back ground.

This is the Alhambra Garden at Roundhay Park.

The gardens are hidden in a part of Roundhay Park, which many people don't know about or like me couldn't find for years!

These specialist gardens are now better sign posted, and if you are ever in the area please visit them. I'm sure SEE HERE you will love them as much as we do.

After our walk round, we saw " summer lunch £6.50" advertised on a board outside the Roundhay Fox Pub.

However, be warned, they won't bring you that menu unless asked!!
4 choices of starters, mains, and puddings.
One course £6.50, 2 courses £8.50.

We both had a scampi medley with chips and peas for mains.
MrC had carrot and coriander soup, and I had apple fritters with ice cream, and toffee sauce. So £8.50 each.
Very nice it was too.

Two ladies on the next table asked how come our menu was different to theirs?
( Normal menu, mains £10 plus!)
So we told them, and they also asked for the lunch menu, which was duly brought!
The waitress said they didn't give them out unless asked!!!
I noted the 95% of the diners only had the standard menu!

So go for lunch by all means. It is a lovely old pub, and the food was good, but don't forget to ask for the lunch menu!

Just realised I blipped the same flower last year, but one that was in our garden. This year they are still in bud.
