Peter Gabriel and Keith Allen

Womad co-founder Peter Gabriel and actor Keith Allen sign festival programmes after a recording of the Radio 4 arts show Loose Ends. They shared the panel with Gilberto Gil, Arthur Smith, Roopa Panesar, the Malawi Mouse Boys and Carminho . It was billed as "an eclectic mix of conversation, music and comedy from Womad festival". Keith Allen said he lives eight miles down the road. It was great seeing Peter Gabriel and Gilberto Gil in the flesh. The show finished with sitarist Roopa Panesar "playing us out". The position she had to play was right next to Peter Gabriel and Gilberto Gil, which she may have found intimidating. The programme was being broadcast that evening. I heard it on - you can hear laughter-yoga yells in the background as Nikki Bedi interviews PG. More Womad photos here.
