Gillipaw's Journal

Haddo House, Aberdeenshire

We enjoyed an excellent 90 minute tour of the house and chapel this afternoon. During the torrential downpours, interesting light on the building and grounds.

Originally designed by William Adam in 1732, it has been home to the Gordon family for over 400 years. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stayed here in 1857, some beautiful interiors and paintings.

So peaceful, we were aware of a constant humming noise, so many bees busying away. Enjoyed a walk around the lakes and monuments, finding gravestones for family dogs and horses.
