Remy: In Memorium

Remy, our beloved, sweet cat of 17 years and frequent blipfoto subject passed away peacefully at 6:36pm. Linda and I were with her all the way as the vets took good care of her passing. It broke our hearts, of course, but it was the merciful thing to do. She was diagnosed a month ago with inoperable cancer of the jaw just a few days before our research trip was to start - and too late to cancel. My brother took good care of her while we were away. Upon our return, she was still pretty good but she started to decline the past several days. We made the dreaded call. Her suffering is over and we will recover in due course. Lily and Pumpkin will need to adjust, too. So it goes. Rest in peace, Remy. You were a wonderful friend and greatly loved.

Love 'em while you got 'em. Today is also the 5th anniversary of my mother's passing. We miss you, mom.
