Barrel Cactus Gift

Isn't this just an extraordinary flower? It's just amazing to me that a cactus that looks like a green lump can produce such a beautiful flower. But it does.

I side-stepped into a nearby cactus as I was moving to take this shot. Had small needles stuck onto the bottoms and sides of the rubber soles of my sandals. Happy to announce that surgery was successful.

I also want to note that last night I parked my car with the headlights shining on the cluster mailbox so I could pick up my mail. Maybe again on Monday?? Tuesday?? Whenever.
