Puncture

Today was the second day of our cycle trip through Northumberland. After a cracking fish supper, a fantastic sleep in a comfy bed and a delicious cooked breakfast we were set for another day of cycling. It was hot and hilly when we set out there was shade from the sun. About 15 miles in, EP discovered he had a puncture in his rear tyre. It seemed that there was a split in the inner tube. A quick repair and off we set again towards Rothbury. The picture suggests that it was an overcast day. In fact it was hotter than yesterday and the further into today's route we got the more isolated and exposed we were to the heat of the sun. We had hoped we could stop for a cold drink and shade at the pub in Netherton, but such a tiny village that it was, the pub wasn't open during the day. Thankfully we had taken large quantities of water and chocolate to keep us going.
