Why did I come in here?

We are an Ape - but an articulate Ape.

Some of you may have seen this image previously. It's my small thank you to Sophie our cat and Toots our last dog.

Does the shape, colour, shades make you feel anything? If it does then bravo, me and thee are evolving. This morning the Garden Fairy and I had a long conversation with a non-couple out walking their dogs. It was raining hard but the trees supplied shelter. The chap had moved here from Leeds, a city which was not best suited to him having a male partner. The lady had moved, with her parents from Northern Ireland a year before I first went there under the auspices of Her Madges Government; we could not be further apart in terms of background, former religions and supposed loyalties.

Both had experienced intolerance, both had bad times which were now retreating into the background. Yet their experiences raised in me an anger towards the groups in our society who would wreck the experience of life which can be so innocent and fun. Within our enlightened and tolerant society we have bigotry and hate at outstanding levels, yet point the crooked finger at nations where tyrants rule and mutter about the irregularities of observer monitored elections.

Physician, heal thyself.
