Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 339

The northern lights of Fife seen from Portobello Beach this early August evening. The island of Inchkeith, a feature of many of my day time blips, has a lighthouse on it and its light can just be seen if you look carefully. The brighter lights behind are those of Kirkaldy on the Fife shoreline. It has been another warm and generally sunny day here in Joppa. Many say that this weather is not the norm in these parts and it certainly gives all the visitors a very favourable impression of Scottish weather. As we went out this evening to a super 60th birthday party we saw the twoship of RAF Typhoons roaring into central Edinburgh to open this evening's performance of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Three large cruise liners were in the Forth today. Two of them are still at Rosyth this evening enabling some of their passengers to enjoy the Tattoo at the end of their day in the Scottish Capital.
