'A Dark Day at the 'G'

In more ways than one. Firstly our Hawks put on a massively disappointing show and we suffered our biggest loss for the season, and secondly because after half time the sky turned black and the heavens opened up just to rub it in.

Apart from yesterday's game, I had a fantastic day with our blip pal Sleepyhead. An early start in the morning and a drive out to Marysville through the Black Spur Forrest surrounded by the huge Mountain Ash trees. A stop off at a local bakery for a nice cooked bacon, eggs and sausages breakfast. Drove home along the back road to Warburton and stopped off a couple of times in the quiet Forrest for some photo opportunities and then on to home via a short detour to our new found chocolate factory and shop in the Yarra Valley.

A quick cuppa and a short walk out the back of home and then load up the car and head into the MCG to watch one of the most ordinary games I've ever seen our Hawks play. I really did enjoy the walk back to the car in the pouring rain all wearing our plastic overpriced ponchos purchased at the ground after the match. When was the last time I went for a walk in the rain? Can't have been for a very long time as I can't recall.
We decided to head straight home as we were all quite wet from the knees down, where the ponchos didn't cover. Shoes and socks soaked through.
Ordered some take away fish and chips for dinner and then spent the next 3, 4 or 5 hours just sitting chatting, the time seemed to fly past and before we knew it, the day had slipped by.
Sleepyhead totally spoilt us and the kids with very special gifts all the way from Scotland and The Boy Magician learnt a few new tricks with a very special set of black on black playing cards.
So nice the be able to find new friends thanks to this great site, and thanks for a wonderful day.
