Not a very inspiring photo but... a bitterly cold day for my second volunteering session with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust in Alvaston.

The bullet point version (since I lost the original):-

2.5 hours spent clearing the flood plain meadow by slashing and raking, moving in random patterns as if we were Highland cattle grazing, which do actually graze there when it's not winter.

A quick lunchbreak because it was so cold.

Onto a nearby area to cut and remove, but also pollard some waterside willow trees, dragging and chucking the debris onto a bramble heap. Exhausting work - well for me anyway, possibly not for the 21 year old I was working with but I showed her a couple of tricks that come with experience haha!

Home and I had a lovely phone conversation with my son, a good catch-up and so much better than a text message chat.
