A Day Worth Recording

Went in to Oxford today with 'A', mainly to see an exhibition at the Bodleian library, an exhibition of original sketches, artworks, etc. for 'Magical Books' - from manuscripts from the middle ages, to Tolkien.

Highly recommended (and it's free).

The picture is of the statue in the central quad in the Bodleian - one William Herbert, Earl of Pembroke who gave his name to Pembroke College. Good job he was an Earl then. 'Erbert College doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

We had lunch in Oxford then Cupcake and I went shopping and toured the charity shops. Picked up a still sealed copy of the game Scandaroon. Don't know the game but I trust the publisher ('JKLM' - a small specialist outfit) and for £2.99 I can't go too far wrong.

Headed back home this evening.
