The walking boots I wore yesterday are no good for my toes, I've got to replace them or give up walking. My feet are a problem because my bunions are quite pronounced, and also my middle toe is almost the longest, and then they are not in a straight line because of the bunions!
Several years ago I began wearing Hanwag Tatra II Bunion boots after visiting Whalley Warm and Dry in Clitheroe, where my first pair were expertly fitted. I was very happy.
Of course they wore out and resoling wasn't an option because the uppers weren't good, perhaps down to the leather being stretched to gain the fit. Anyway I wasn't going to drive up to Clitheroe every time I needed new boots, which is roughly every 1,500 miles - I'm hard on my footwear - so, knowing the make, model and size I began ordering online.
Although the above aren't the only Hanwag boots I've had, they're the three I've still got, one in the garage, one in the garden and the ones I wore yesterday. I think the first pair I had were men's, which accounts for why two of the above three are also.
To be honest I'm sick of spending the money, they're not cheap, and I wish I could just visit Decathlon or somewhere, but I can't.
This morning I've ordered another pair, but a half size larger. Fingers, rather than toes, crossed.
