Skiing

Sunday, so it’s ski day. Adams mate Thro stayed the night, so up early we all were and off to the hills.

Rain and drizzle in Christchurch, but it cleared to a high overcast and reasonably warm day. And in fact, turned into a super day.

Porters has lost a lot of snow, but they are coping and today it warmed enough for the snow to “release” and become softer to ski on, instead of frozen.

The day was capped off when Bluff Face opened, and late afternoon I had a run. Access was good and the snow conditions were superb. Skied top to bottom, grabbed Adam and we went up for another run.

Just as good, and to his credit he skied to the bottom without stopping too. Well done!

Here he is at the top of Bluff before descending. Notice the smile? How come I can never get him to smile like this! Today he’s showing off a tooth that is loose … have to think how I can work that into future photos!
