Silent Pool

Trying to post a little earlier tonight!!

Met up with long time friend Maureen today. She travelled up from Devon and we picked her up at Woking Station. Had a few hours to catch up and chat and then we decided to check out a place on the A25 that we have seen numerous times as we drive towards the Lodge. It is called Silent Pool and has always intrigued us, so Maureen being a bit of a walker, was subjected to its first exploration!

What an interesting place... it looks like quit a large conservation area with an organic vineyard thrown in. The pictures show the walk around the pool which unfortunately suffers from a "highly invasive weed called Crassula. It only takes a tiny fragment on the skin or in the hair to transfer it to other water bodies or drainage systems" so NO SWIMMING. Sounds BAD. Unfortunately, the ducks and other birds can't read this sign so they flit between Silent Pool and Sherbourne Pond (nearby) and who knows where else!! There you go.

It was very interesting and there were trees there I hadn't seen before, and also reflective scenes I just couldn't capture, so another visit I think...
