Cooling off

Grrrr Have written todays blurb once then lost it all by hitting the wrong button when reviewing the location..... This time will keep it short ... Phew you say!!!

Jenny and colleague (Cecilia I think) came to do dressing, Jenny still in shock after yesterdays accident. I was very disappointed to hear that they hadn't been checked over by the medical teams and the experienced police officers had treated them as culprits rather than victims. Only the local voluntary firebrigade asked them if they were Ok and gave them water bottles. The patient they were travelling to, lives alongside the small country road and had gesticulated to the motorbike rider as he shot by her garden at high speed.

Jenny is a tough girl when it comes to wounds etc but she is very sensitive and at 22 this first vehicle accident is a big shock. Luckily Cecilia (around 40) has had her fair share of such accidents and is not only an important "crutch" as a witness but also mentally. Without her help, I suspect Jenny would have long collapsed.

The mad dogs and Englishman then left the 37°C in the shade of the terrace and went for a walk, not in the midday sun but in the forest followed by a paddle in the center of Erkheim. Flash found the deepest spot and just stood there for 15 minutes. Luna naturally explored everything. There followed, for all 3, a long afternoon nap when we got home.

At 18:00 the awaited storm came but only for 5 minutes of rain and hail. The hail stones were up to an inch in diameter but luckily not in great quantity. Luna & I were in the metal roofed horse stable - it was loud, so much so that the horses stayed out trying to find shelter under trees. Storm clouds kept coming over until about 22:00 but apart from a gust or two and brief rain nothing further. No damage at all, not even to flowers or plants but in the region again fallen trees etc.

A repeat forecasted for tomorrow and then from Thursday, winter arrives with temperature down to 25°C for the forseeable future. Hope you are all keeping safe and sound.
