Topless Kilmarnock Fan
This resembles the Kilmarnock top from the late 70s & 80s. Kilmarnock was where my dad grew up and consequently where he took me to see my first ever football game.
Things to remember:
Getting lifted over the turnstile - something that doesn't happen now in Corporate Football
Toilets that were open to the elements and had never seen a cleaner.
A hot pie at half time - not as good as today's Killie Pie but still delicious.
Eddie Morrison burying a header for the first Killie goal.
Ally Hunter as goalkeeper - Kilmarnock was a team that always had good goalkeepers.
The Johnnie Walker advert on the top of the roof in the away end - the company had a large presence in Kilmarnock.
Behind the terrace where my dad always took me backed on to lots of gardens where lots of people grew apples.
Lots of people singing.
Lots of people peeing into empty beer cans and then kicking them over.
Football grounds look amazing at night - floodlights and green grass always make my heart beat a bit faster.
There - a bit of reminiscing and Monday seems the best day to do it.
It's something different.
