Cowes High Street

During Cowes Week the town is transformed into an international festival of sail and is thronged with visitors of all nationalities. Every pub and restaurant is packed and it is difficult to walk along the High Street due to the sheer numbers of people. In the evening after racing is over the town is given over to one huge party. It's hard to believe that some days in Winter this street is totally empty.

Lots going on here in Large, see if you can spot Sailor Ted.

Thankfully for all the competitors and organisers there was just enough breeze today to enable racing to start on time albeit at a slow pace so not too exciting photography wise hence the picture of the town.

I took delivery today of a used 45mm 1.8 lens for the Olympus EM-5 having read some good reviews and this is one of the first pics. taken with it. First impressions are this tiny jewel like lens is blisteringly sharp.
