St Bertram's Well Day
Last week my blip relating to Bunster Hill led to Spots of Time's blip of a nearby well being brought to my attention. I told Rhian about it and since then she's been itching to go and find it.
Today was the day and we went to Ilam again. The well was fairly easy to find, and a second one and then we went back to the village church to look at another, and also to see the shrine to Bertram inside the church. Extra shows the three wells and a bonus spring!
We had lunch, then decided to walk up Bunster Hill again. By the time we got halfway up the wind had massively increased in strength and we decided not to go further up. Coming down would have been difficult, it's very steep, so we traversed to the left around the hill and got out of the wind, finding a path down a bit further on, which led us past St Bertram's well for the second time.
The well is situated behind the trees to the right hand side of the main photo.
