Evening in a Burgundian vineyard

We had a long drive today - left London at 5am and arrived in our favourite B&B in Puligny-Montrachet in time for dinner :-)) This is the view from our window. The grapes are still small but perfectly formed...

It was 28 degrees C in central France. Every combine harvester, tractor and trailer, cultivator and muck-spreader was out in the vast fields. They were harvesting the winter barley and oil seed rape. The maize crops are 5 feet tall and being irrigated and the sunflowers are just starting to flower. Watching the activity livens up the long motorway hours.
