Hafren Forest

Chris took a flexi day today and we headed for Wales as the forecast was for another beautiful, sunny day.  
Hafren Forest has been on Instagram recently as they've just finished renewing the boardwalks. The reviews were good and the photos lovely, so I wanted to visit. I was not disappointed. It was stunning.  We did 2 walks. The first was 3 3/4 miles along the Severn and at the edge of the forest and the second was 1 1/2 miles that took us to the  Severn Breaks Its Neck waterfall. I preferred the first walk as the scenery was better but the second waterfall was more impressive. I was shocked at the number of trees that had been blown down in the recent winter storms.
One thing that I didn't like about our day out was the approach road. It was very narrow and very high up! I'm not a fan of heights and the road was too narrow for 2 cars so one needed to reverse to the passing points. Apart from that, I'd highly recommend a visit and the fresh air and scenery did me the world of good.
